Even with the health of the economy still in double, attendance at trade shows around the U.S is still quite strong. Attendance has declined up to 15-20% but overall, considering the natural inclination to cut back on expenditures, the trade show industry is holding steady. The fact that exhibitors are attending shows at all should be taken as good news with regard to the future of the economy at large given the important role they play in the introduction of new services and products. What has been interesting has been the increasing shift to exhibit rentals.
Trade show display rentals makes a lot of sense. Trade show attendance and an exhibitor is stressful. Much of this stress comes from the worry as to whether you exhibit will show up on time, having to deal with hardened union guys on the convention floor and knowing that things need to be right when the boss steps onto the floor. Much of this stress goes away with an exhibit rental. The exhibit rental business assumes the responsibility of getting the booth to the show on time and of handling the installation and dismantle. In addition, they arrange and pay for the ship out.
Here are some helpful tips for those in are in the process of planning a trade show rental for the next show.. Tell your sales people to make sure that there is always somebody in the exhibit. You likely know that there are moments when things are so slow you want to take a stroll.. Leaving a booth un-staffed, however, leaves you at risk of missing to potential biggest lead of the show. Staffing the exhibit at all times is important.
This movement to trade show exhibit rentals has been going on for several years. . The numbers as it relates to rentals versus new booth purchases has changed from about 7 to 3 in favor of purchases to a similar figure in favor of rentals. The move to exhibit rentals was destined to continue even if there hadn’t been issues with the economy. This is because more and more companies are recognizing the advantages of just showing up at a show and having their exhibit already set up for them; of not having to arrange for shipping to and from the advanced show warehouse, of not having to store the booth and, most importantly, of not having to lay out around three times the amount of money to purchase an exhibit.
Double deck exhibit rentals are now available in cities throughout the United States, Japan, Singapor and in Europe.
